Random Thoughts of a Disordered Mind

Surprised by self-control

I did not buy or eat mini eclairs today. I wanted to and I intended to on the way home but once I got to the store, I amazed myself by my willpower and ability  to steer the little cart past the boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts, orange decorated pumpkin cookies, fragrant cinnamon rolls, and creamy mini eclairs. Instead I picked up a package of ground sirloin burgers, potato rolls, white grape fizzy water (my favorite on sale, no less), a couple of Lean Cuisines, plump green grapes and some fresh tomatoes. I felt very virtuous and in control, at least for tonight.

  1. Hooray! Not only did you not buy the bad stuff, you got some good stuff.

I’m trying to do that too — had that oatmeal brulee I told you about (WW “In No Time” cookbook) for breakfast and brought two pieces of fruit to work with me and some veggies.

  2. Kudos to the two of you. Maybe there’s some gravitational pull for us. I went to the store Tuesday night and got good stuff….

    Keep up the good work!
